Hyundai Bayon Cars
The Hyundai Bayon is a subcompact SUV that is set to hit UK roads later this year. It is expected to compete with the likes of the Nissan Juke and Renault Captur.
The Bayon measures 4,180mm in length, 1,775mm in width, and 1,490mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,580mm and a ground clearance of 183mm. The boot capacity is 411 litres which can be expanded to 1,205 litres by folding down the rear seats.
Under the hood, customers can choose between two petrol engines: a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged engine with either 99 or 118 horsepower and a six-speed manual gearbox or seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission respectively. Both engines come with front-wheel drive as standard.
In terms of design, the Bayon features Hyundai's signature cascading grille at the front and sleek LED headlights. The interior boasts an eight-inch touchscreen display that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration, while higher trims come equipped with a larger screen measuring up to ten inches.
Safety features include forward collision warning with autonomous emergency braking (AEB), lane departure warning system (LDWS), lane keeping assist (LKA) and driver attention warning (DAW).
The Bayon comes packed with useful features such as wireless phone charging and numerous USB ports for charging devices on long journeys. Hyundai has also included its Blue Link connected car technology allowing owners to control various functions via their smartphone including locking/unlocking doors or starting/stopping the engine.
Overall, the Hyundai Bayon offers impressive levels of practicality combined with an attractive design both inside and out. Its compact size makes it ideal for navigating busy city streets while its raised driving position provides excellent visibility when driving on motorways or country roads.
